As a therapist this subject piqued my interest, so I thought I’d find out what all the fuss was about. Woebot had come up in many of the articles I’d read. It’s an app built by former Stanford Psychologists with the goal of increasing access to mental health care.
One of my primary goals as a psychologist for the past 25 years has been to help people to move away from a status quo they have identified as not working for them. A status quo metaphor would be the proverbial water taking the same pathway running down the hill.
