The menopausal transition is said to represent a ‘window of vulnerability’ for women. Hot flushes and night sweats are well-known symptoms but anxiety, low mood & depression are also prevalent during perimenopause & menopause .
When I was younger I used to wish I was a kind person. I remembered seeing gentle, kind people who were empathic and supportive of other people and wishing, more than anything that I could be just like them.
As tough as it is, it’s important to help them adjust before, or at the same time, as we ourselves are doing. They must learn this skill from us too. The ability to cope with emotional pain is crucial to help them adapt to change.
