Eating disorders effect 1.25 million people in the UK and a high percent of these are children. This means that when isolating at home, when school isn’t happening if you are supporting a child with an eating disorder it adds another layer of complications.
The range of emotions parents feel in relation to having a disabled child can be confusing, paradoxical and change in response to their environment, often all in the same day. As one parent said ‘it’s a rollercoaster’.
Talking has almost become ‘out of fashion’, could this be a primary factor of the rise in mental health? I fully believe that when you are struggling with mental health a listening ear and having someone to talk too is first step to recovery
