BASIC ONLINE SANDTRAY - CHOICES AND SKILLS TRAINING
For a lot of therapists, sandtray work is a key part of therapeutic practice, but what do we need to consider when we choose an online sandtray tool to suit our profile, our budget and our clients? And in the light of the current pandemic, restrictions around working practices have meant that this highly valuable therapeutic tool has often had to be sidelined in face to face work - but this course will enable you to bring it back into your practice virtually, and give you all the tools you need to be able to use it as effectively as you would in person.
In our half day online sandtray training, Lesley will help you to define:
- What do you need from an online sandtray?
- What is your plan and target?
- What kind of immersive sandtray experience do you want to create for clients
Lesley will guide you step by step to show you how to:
- Add an online sandtray option to your face to face work
- Create ways to use your existing sandtray for online work with young children or clients with limited computer skills,
- Choose a more advanced sandtray option for use with teens and adults. Learn how to create multi-level images, work remotely in groups or create a deeper immersive experience in therapy.
Lesley will show you how to create your own sandtray interventions for free, using your existing toys and miniatures. She'll also share ways to get below the surface using Virtual Sandtray App®.
The ticket price includes a copy of Lesley's Google Slide Sandtray to take away and get yourself started straightaway.
About Lesley
Lesley is an experienced Integrative Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist working in private practice. The change from a successful career in financial product communications was driven by the challenge of becoming an adoptive parent. Instead of returning to marketing management, Lesley explored a long-held passion for art and music which eventually led to her completing a Postgraduate Diploma and an MA in Integrative Child Psychotherapy at the Institute for Arts in Therapy and Education.
During her training, Lesley pursued her interest in advocacy for vulnerable, care-experienced young people. For several years she has worked for National Youth Advocacy Service as both a young people’s advocate and independent mental health advocate, working locally in Hertfordshire and in low and medium secure psychiatric units for South London and Maudesley NHS Trust and The Priory Hospitals in London.
Lesley is also a qualified Therapeutic Life Story Worker, and she is commissioned by schools, local authorities and families across Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire to provide a range of therapeutic services.
