About The Event
Training from Stillpoint Spaces
A one-day workshop on identity with the National Coalition-Building Institute (NCBI).
In this workshop, led by NCBI Chief Executive Royston John, we will be working through important questions together such as "Who are we and what are our different experiences?" and "How are we complicit in our experiences and the experiences of others?"
This full day workshop will provide space for story sharing on the topic of identity; encourage examination of the issues that separate us; enable participants to better recognise unfair prejudice and unreasonable discrimination; offer more effective, peaceful strategies for change, advocacy and ally-ship. The experience aims to boost self confidence and esteem in the participants with particular reference to race, identity, and difference.
This workshop is intended for anyone interested in becoming more effective at recognising and reducing inappropriate, harmful, discriminatory behaviour and providing sustainable outcomes, whether that's individually or in groups, in the workplace or in the community, for self-development purposes or for the mentoring and managing of others.
The National Coalition-Building Institute (NCBI) is an international charity; founded in the USA in 1984; active in the UK since 1986. NCBI offers training to recognise and avert unconscious bias, unfair prejudice and unreasonable discrimination. NCBI has delivered leadership and development training within the public, corporate and voluntary sectors; in schools and universities, community and faith groups. Royston John has been Chief Executive of NCBI since 2002.
